Brother and sister

Monday September 18

It was small, my 'company appartment', but big enough to host my first gast. My brother Peter came to Madrid for a weekend to see if I'm okay here in far away Spain. Because I'm a good hostess this meant a few days on the aerobed for me...
Of course this was a good reason to party, so we did on Friday with my colleague Carlos and his friends ... again till early in the morning!

The next day is always 'the next day', so we decided to take it slow and go for a nice walk in Madrid's Retiro Park.
In the football stadium of Real Madrid, Santiago Bernabeu, is a lovely restaurant, and, as Peter is so crazy about football, we had to go there for diner. Great foot and great views! Allthough I'm sure the view is much better when a match is actually played, but this activity will be a little bit out of budget... (we did ask of course)

never been to a stadium so sharply dressed ..Peter and the Stadium
It is the football field behind the window!!!

On the Sunday we were completely recovered from our advantures on Friday, so it was time for another night out. Unfortunately I had to work on monday, so I went home around 2.30, (to late to not end up with a hangover the next day, ) and opened the door for Peter somewhere early in the morning when he returned from his clubbing night.
Peet, I hope you had a great time!! See you again soon, I hope!

7.30

Monday September 4

Monday again, time flies!
I still have to ajust my system to the fact that I'm living here, and not on a holiday. Every day feels like weekend, it's the weather I quess, it's still very hot and especially the evenings are very nice. It seems like nobody stays at home. The streets are very crowded. It's September now, and all the people return from the coast back into the city. This shows in the streets, a lot of places were closed for the summer and they opened again this week, and the amound of people on the streets is increasing every day. Yesterday I went to the park again with Roberto, my new room-mate, and even there it was very busy. Many artists are performing there, music or acrobatics or just showing off with their roller-skates. So nice!!
Roberto showed me the gym they all go to, so I have a VIP membership for a year now....
I broke my Madrilenian record of coming home late this weekend, it was 7.30 when I came home. And that only after a few weekends! I was out with my colleague Carlos, he lives just around the corner with his friend and has a very nice terrace, which we enjoyed till about 2 in the morning before going to the club. Everything is a few hours later here, diner is till about midnight, after diner a drink or a cocktail and then it's time to go to the club. Before you know it, the sun is up again.
The only thing that's not a few hours later is the time my alarm-clock goes off every morning.......
